Canteen Eating Contest
Came to the 2nd Canteen eating contest on June 1, 2019 FAQ
WHAT WAS THE COMPETITION?
The official competition was 10 minutes of furious, sanctioned eating. Contestants ate as many Canteen sandwiches as humanly possible in 10 minutes.
All members of the public were allowed to apply for a seat at the competition. All applications were submitted to a selection committee run by Major League Eating. We had 6 professional competitors and 7 amateur eaters vying for the title of World Champion.
WHERE WAS THE COMPETITION?
The official 2nd Canteen eating competition took place at Downtown Ottumwa at the Canteen Alley at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
The winner is Gideon Oji from Morrow, GA won. He ate 18 1/2 sandwiches in just 10 minutes! Last Year Winner. 2018 Contest.
WHAT DID HE WIN?
Not only did Gideon win the title of World Champion, he also won a trophy as well as $2,000.
HOW MANY CONTESTANTS WERE THERE AND HOW MANY WERE WOMEN?
The contest consisted of 13 brave souls who ate their hearts out! There were 7 amateur eaters and 6 professionals, two of which were women. Sarah Reinecke from Seattle, WA and Michelle Severino from Springfield, IL were the female competitors.
